The Wind in the Willows (Penguin Classics)
I grew up on the bank of a beautiful meandering river and was alone much of the time with only my imagination. When I checked this book out of the library (my favorite place at the time) it resonated deeply within me and became my favorite for many years. It was so easy for me to imagine myself in the book. The quality of the writing and the vocabulary make it a valuable read for young childen.
