The Birth of Venus: A Novel

The Birth of Venus - Sarah Dunant Sarah Dunant tells quite a tale -- suspenseful, character driven, mood inducing --yet, there are holes in the plot and in the time line and the very, very ending (it has a few) is odd and dissatisfying. Still it is Dunant's capture of renaissance Florence and her creation of Alessandra, a delightful leading lady, that make this book worth reading.
